Reviewing Treats On Amazon!

Hi everyone! Today, I'm going to do a simple search on Amazon: "guinea pig treats" and see what comes up. I'll review a few of the options that come up first with my opinion on them. Hopefully this post is helpful! The links to buy these treats are in the name before the picture. You can learn more about guinea pig treats in this older post of mine.

    First: MOYASIBB Natural Hay Sticks

These treats are made of natural timothy hay, which I like. It says it's suitable for a lot of pets, including guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, and hamsters. Most of the pictures show rabbits, though. They look nice, long hay sticks. They are a bit expensive, $9 for something that should only be $5. Our piggies would surely like this!

    Next: Vitakraft Guinea Pig Sticks
Uh oh! These don't look safe for guinea pigs! The ingredient list has honey included in it, and guinea pigs shouldn't be eating honey! This also includes peanuts and lecithin, plus a lot of weird additives. Many reviews on this product state that "I had to bring my guinea pig to the vet because they got sick" and one says they "had to pay $129 in vet bills." Don't feed stuff like this to your guinea pigs, it can get them horribly sick. NOT RECOMMENDING!!!

Third: Kaytee Timothy Hay Yo Dips

I trust the Kaytee brand, but these don't look so good. Guinea pigs shouldn't be eating dairy, and these treats have yogurt in them. However, the reviews seem good and people seem to have any problems with these and apparently guinea pigs love them. Many people sell yogurt drops for piggies which isn't the right thing to do, it can upset your guinea pig's stomach. So I wouldn't recommend buying these, perhaps something else that's healthier.

That's all for today! Hope you enjoyed this post, and see you next time on Trisha's Guinea Pig Adventreus!

  2. Interesting. I also trust Kaytee, but that last one doesn't look to healthy. The hay sticks seem fine,
but what is in it? I would like to know. They seem great, considering that they help with digestion and are chew sticks for their teeth! Great post. :)

You can check out the Amazon link, which doesn't give the full list of ingredients, sadly, but still: https://www.amazon.com/MOYASIBB-Natural-Timothy-Chinchillas-Hamsters/dp/B08V4L8GKW/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=guinea+pig+treats&qid=1628899674&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExSExZTkROTUpVV1JYJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwOTM0ODY1MlQ0WjNGV1BCNTBEMiZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMjU2ODE0QTdJUlREVFY3VFBOJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
