The Battle Of The Bedding: Kaytee vs. CareFresh

    Kaytee or CareFresh? The most common question asked about piggie supplies. The two best bedding brands, paper-based, and made with all natural ingredients. Is one better than the other? Which one? We'll weigh the pros and cons for each bedding brand, cause this is The Battle Of The Bedding, in this post. 

Kaytee

    Pros: Very soft and fluffy. You don't need that much to cover up the whole cage. Comes in nice scents. Better odor-masking technology. Comes in different colors. Paper-based, made with natural ingredients. 

    Cons: LOTS OF DUST! Dust is not good for guinea pigs. Sometimes can be itchy. Scents aren't really scents. Some pieces are very big, so guinea pigs can choke on it if they try to digest it. Costs more. Lightweight, so it gets thrown around. 

CareFresh

    Pros: Fluffy. Great odor-masking technology. Pebbles and Trixie's favorite. Comes in various colors. Paper-based, and made with ONLY natural ingredients. Bigger bags, cheaper. (Secret: has coupons on the bottom of the bag!) Can adapt to any shape, and stays in place. Better at absorbing liquids. 

    Cons: Stiff at first. Odor-masking technology isn't too great. Sometimes the colorful ones cost more. No scents. Slightly harder to clean.
