Piggie Fun Fact #11: Do Guinea Pigs Talk With Each Other?

You may have heard me or other guinea pig owners say their guinea pigs talk to each other often. It may seem weird, but guinea pigs have their own language, just like us humans do!

Guinea pigs tend to speak to each other in short and fast squeaks, which are mostly quiet. Sometimes they are difficult to hear. A lot of the time, the other guinea pig(s) will respond back. I wonder what guinea pigs talk about!

Our guinea pigs often speak when I am cleaning the cage or when they are outside the cage. Trixie usually starts the conversation. It seems as if they are planning how to get back to the cage! Guinea pigs are quite intelligent creatures, so this might possibly be true.

What an interesting fact! Hope you enjoyed! See you next time on Trisha's Guinea Pig Adventures! Make sure to comment on what you thought of this post, and any ideas for more Piggie Fun Facts in the future!
