Green Peppers vs. Carrots

Some of of guinea pigs' favorite foods around the globe include green peppers and carrots. Both these veggies are even human favorites! Are you wondering what nutrients are in each of these veggies and if one is healthier than the other? Then you're in the right place: today's post.

Green peppers are great for guinea pigs! Did you know guinea pigs cannot make their own Vitamin C, much like humans? Green peppers have a lot of Vitamin C in them! You should definitely feed them to your guinea pig! Did you know green peppers are actually fruits, not vegetables? Like cucumbers!

Carrots have Vitamin A in them. All guinea pigs L-O-V-E carrots! For most guinea pigs, it's their favorite food. It also includes nice amounts of Vitamin C,  B and fiber, which are essential for your guinea pig as well. Guinea pigs will enjoy baby carrots, so you don't need to spend time peeling and cutting carrots when you can just buy a small bag of baby carrots for your pet.

Both these vegetables are great for your piggies and you should feed your guinea pig them a few times a week. Make sure to cut your guinea pigs' food in small pieces so they won't choke on it. (Dicing or cutting green and red peppers in thin strips is perfectly fine.)
